Leaving for Paris

Wednesday, April 14, 2004

Well, it's time to go. I'm a little disappointed that Erlinda couldn't go with me on this trip, but she'll definitely go next time. I'll be travelling most of the way on Air France, which provided this picture of their AirBus A330-200:

They also added this blurb:

"You no longer have to be next to the window to enjoy the aerial view! A video camera mounted under the aircraft's nose means you can now admire the spectacular panorama from the comfort of your own individual interactive screen."

Cool! I'll let you know how interesting those views were.

UPDATE, 4/15/2004:
Well, the views were pretty interesting, while we were over the continental U.S, which was the first few hours of the journey. The flight originated in Cincinnati (I flew a ComAir regional jet from Orlando), and we passed over the U.S northeast, before heading out over the Atlantic. Once we got over open water, and as night fell, there wasn't much more to see.

Yup, it's a pretty cool feature. Might be nice to see that on other airlines.
